Review on the NUPIGECO conference, held in spring 2013

In the spring, Nupigeco opened the doors of its 3 manufacturing facilities in Italy and allowed visitors to discover more about new and existing products.

Distributors from the Netherlands, Russia, Israel and the UK joined Nupigeco to learn more about the factory and about how its pipes and fittings are manufactured.

Nupigeco has started manufacturing pipes and fittings from various plastic materials over 40 years ago. Now it has 7 factories in 4 continents and has many sales and technical back up offices around the world. Nupigeco manufactures over 10.000.000m of pipe and 40.000.000 fittings every year and has over 250 employees in Italy.

17 years ago Nupigeco invented Smartflex piping system for underground installations at petrol stations. In the 16 years time Smartflex has been installed at around 8000 stations in 145 countries in the world.
There are 7000 people that have successfully passed the training for certified welders and 150 people that are certified instructors.
Smartflex has all the main approvals such as EN14125, UL971, KIWA, IP, GOST, DiBt, PTB, Wolfson and many more.

The conference focused on the following topics:

  • Single and double wall piping system for underground installations at petrol stations, marinas, heliports, oil bases
  • LPG piping installations
  • ADBLUE installations
  • Water & Gas pipes and fittings
  • Pipes for industrial applications

On the first day, guests were welcomed at Castel Guelfo premises, close to Bologna, where nice Italian coffee and a welcoming atmosphere were there waiting for them.

After a general presentation of the company, the SMARTFLEX pipe and fitting system for the transport of fuels and hazardous fluids and the SMARTlpg system for the conveyance of LPG were presented.

In the afternoon, guests visited the factory of Castel Guelfo and Imola, that was founded 41 years ago, where HDPE and PPR pipes are produced.

On the second day, some of Nupigeco’s main product ranges for the transport of water and gas were presented.

In the afternoon, guests took part in a much appreciated visit to the FerrariMuseum in Maranello, where they could appreciate old and new Ferraris and learn everything about the history of this world famous car.

On the last day, guests went to Busto Arsizio, close to Milan, that was totally renovated in 2006, to visit the factory where fittings are produced and to receive the farewell by Marco Genoni, Nupigeco’s CEO.
