This newest LaserWash incorporates revolutionary Smart 360™ Technology that enables the machine to instantly respond to the dynamic wash conditions in the bay, resulting in faster wash speeds, increased revenue, lower cost of ownership and a quicker return on investment. In fact, there are five distinct ways that the Smart 360 touch-free wash technology can enhance ROI:

• Cleaning System - The new LaserWash’s advanced in-bay cleaning system uses smart chemical timing and tilting-arch functions to raise vehicle chemical coverage to a new level. High-pressure applications now include the ability for the arch to tilt to cover the back of side mirrors, while more targeted arch oscillation attacks hard-to-clean areas from multiple angles.
• Drying System - The LaserWash takes advantage of the latest advancements in drying-system technology to offer the FlashDry™ rinse system that performs a final rinse and basic dry in the same operation, all in a single 10-second pass. This time- and energy-saving technology was developed on the simple theory that it is easier to remove water that is already moving.
• Arch Control - The LaserWash’s new arch controls allow for quicker throughput and create customer confidence and comfort throughout the entire wash process. These arches are able to rotate 360 degrees while simultaneously moving around the vehicle. Three axis motions provide rounded corner profiling that keeps nozzles always focused on the vehicle. The result is consistent, productive vehicle coverage and minimal product waste as chemicals are no longer sprayed on the floor.
• Networking - Modern, easy-to-use Web browser interfaces now allow access to the LaserWash’s key operating functions and reports. With this capability, operators can change wash packages, view performance and wash trends, and monitor all machine functions via any device that has a Web browser. In addition, secure connections allow access through the Internet, eliminating the need for on-site troubleshooting. Employees are also able to stay in touch with the operation 24/7 via e-mail, text messaging and other real-time remote connections.
• Consumer Experience - The new LaserWash has been designed to give drivers a safe, comfortable and easy-to-use wash experience. PDQ’s patented Virtual Treadle® keeps the bay floor unobstructed. Bright, simple LED signage and language-specific audio messages provide clear instructions. Wash upgrades from 3X colored foams and super sealants to a dedicated front-bug prep are easily incorporated into wash packages.

“We’ve made a lot of design changes over the years to improve our original LaserWash 4000, which was introduced in 1989,” said David Dougherty, PDQ’s Senior Product Manager for In-Bay Automatics.

“In 2000, we released the Virtual Treadle® and it’s now on all of our systems. The Virtual Treadle eliminates loading concerns. We have also eliminated the use of incandescent signs. We have gone to bright, clear, crisp color LED signs. Overall, the new LaserWash provides a much better wash experience for the customer. It has an open, inviting bay for the customers, improving their overall experience in getting a car wash.”
