English Español Greggs opens 2,500th shop

This milestone achievement is part of the retailer’s five-year strategy to open over 3,000 new stores across the UK.

Last update:

Greggs has opened its 2,500th store, located at a service station in Cobham, UK, and it’s also the retailer’s eighth store with Sainsbury’s.

Through this milestone, the company is closer to achieving its five-year growth plan announced back in 2021, which involves opening over 3,000 shops in the UK. This year, the chain aims to inaugurate between 140 and 160 new sites, focusing on expanding its presence in travel hubs and roadside locations.

As well as continuing to nurture and build the chain’s presence on the high street, these openings highlight how the brand continues to expand into more non-traditional locations.

The retailer’s mission is to be accessible, wherever, whenever, and however its customers need it.
