Carreras and Cepsa will promote the use of renewable biofuels

This biofuel reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% during its life cycle compared to regular fuels.

Carreras and Cepsa have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the use of 100% renewable diesel (HVO). The logistics operator uses biofuels for certain routes and some customers, a policy aligned with its sustainability plan.

This biofuel is compatible with current diesel engines, so vehicles do not need any investment or adaptation to start using it.

For Carreras Grupo Logístico, "this agreement facilitates our commitment to sustainability, and allows us to move faster towards transport and logistics that are committed to the environment".

"At Cepsa we help our clients, such as Carreras, to decarbonise their activity in order to move together towards sustainable mobility," says Cedric Vigneau, Cepsa's Director of Fleets & CRT.

Together with Bio-Oils, Cepsa will develop the largest second-generation biofuels plant in southern Europe, which will be commissioned in 2026 in the province of Huelva and will have a flexible production capacity of 500,000 tonnes of 100% renewable diesel and SAF.
